About Us
New Day for Children was founded in 2009 in response to the escalating crisis of child sex trafficking in the San Francisco Bay Area—and the glaring absence of long-term, trauma-informed care for young survivors.
Today, New Day for Children leads the nation with the largest network of trauma-informed residential programs specifically designed for child survivors of sex trafficking. Through its expanding alliance of trusted partners across the country, New Day provides children with the opportunity for lasting transformation, hope, and healing.
Entirely privately funded, New Day offers comprehensive, individualized care—including safe housing, trauma-informed therapy, education and tutoring, equine-assisted therapy, life skills coaching and parent support—giving each child the support they need to rebuild their lives.
Why Give
The buying and selling of people is one of the fastest-growing criminal industries in the world, and child sex trafficking isn't a distant or abstract issue—it's happening here in the very communities we call home. It is estimated that there are between 100,000 and 300,000 children at risk of being trafficked for sex in the U.S. This is a pervasive & underreported crime, made difficult to detect because trafficked children may be advertised as adults, appear older than they are, and are trained by traffickers to lie about their age to buyers and law enforcement.
#1389: A Call to Action
At New Day for Children, the comprehensive services we make possible—safe housing, trauma-informed therapy, education, and essential life skills—create the foundation for lasting and generational change. These aren't just programs; they are the building blocks of hope and healing for children recovering from the trauma of sexual exploitation.
Your support makes this transformation possible. By partnering with New Day, you give brave survivors the opportunity not only to reclaim their lives, but to dream again. To plan for their future, pursue their goals, and step into a rich and meaningful life filled with possibility.
Caring for a child recovering from the trauma of sex trafficking is a 24-hour-a-day commitment.
24 hours * 30 days = 720 hours of care each month
At an average monthly cost of $10,000 per child, that's just $13.89 per hour to provide safety, therapy, education, and compassionate care that leads to real, lasting healing.
$13.89 An Hour - To Save Lives. Restore Futures.
