Every day, refugee families arrive in the United States carrying little more than hope.
They have fled war, persecution, and unimaginable loss. They come through a legal and highly vetted process seeking safety and the chance to rebuild their lives. But when they arrive, the journey is far from over. Instead, they step into a new set of challenges—finding housing, securing employment, learning a new language, navigating schools and healthcare systems, and trying to build a sense of belonging in a place that feels unfamiliar.
At the same time, many in our communities are hearing the wrong story.
Refugees are often misunderstood. Misinformation shapes perception. And perception shapes how people are welcomed—or not.
This is where you come in.
We believe that when people truly understand the refugee journey, everything changes. Hearts open. Barriers come down. Neighbors become friends.
That’s why we are launching the Refugee Journey Experience—an immersive, interactive event designed to help our community see, feel, and better understand what refugee families go through as they rebuild their lives.
Through this experience, participants will step into the story of a refugee family. They will face real-life decisions and obstacles—finding work, enrolling children in school, navigating unfamiliar systems, and overcoming language barriers. It is challenging. It is eye-opening. And it is powerful.
Because understanding leads to empathy.
And empathy leads to action.
The experience will end with a celebration of culture—authentic food, music, dance, and traditions—creating space for connection and reminding us that refugees don’t just have needs, they bring richness, resilience, and beauty to our community.
To bring this vision to life, we need to raise $15,000.
Today, we are inviting you to help us take the first step by funding the first $5,000. Your early support will allow us to begin planning, secure resources, and build the momentum needed to make this experience a reality.
This is more than an event.
It is a chance to change the narrative.
To replace misunderstanding with truth.
To build a more welcoming and united community.
When you give, you are not just supporting a program—you are helping transform the way people see and respond to refugee families.
You are helping move families from survival to belonging.
Will you help us start the journey?
