Sophie + Junie's Montessori Education 💖

Sophie and Junie attend St. Augustine Public Montessori School, one of the few public Montessori options in the state of Florida! While it is a charter school, it is NOT owned by a large for-profit education management company that siphons public money. Our school is an independent, community-funded alternative option to traditional public Florida schools.

Because we're smaller than other public schools in the county, we get a smaller "piece of the pie" based on our enrollment. Pair that with the higher expenses needed for quality Montessori materials, and the necessity for fundraising becomes even greater. 

The unique learning environment cultivates children's autonomy and sustains their curiosity by giving them personal freedom in their learning experience (within limits, of course). This approach has helped Sophie learn at her own pace, and become more confident. 

And Junie is already doing multiplication, reading small words and even spelling some words on her own! She is so excited about learning and that is nurtured in this environment.
