Deaf Education, Vocation and Inclusion!  (Hear the roar in each word?)

An estimated ten percent of the population in Nicaragua are deaf. Few resources exist for them to receive an education. 

So, what's R.O.A.R. all about?

R.O.A.R. is a ministry that reaches out to the deaf in Nicaragua who are without language and are isolated even within their own homes and within their own families. 

R.O.A.R. restores value through teaching sign language, literacy and vocational skills which lead towards independence.

The deaf become part of a community whose members value one another as image bearers of Christ. 

Through the ministry of R.O.A.R., we partner with Isaiah 29:18 Christian School for the Deaf, the only deaf school in Nicaragua,  and endeavor to provide support in the following ways:

Deaf students are sponsored to attend a special school where instruction in sign language is provided. 

Highly trained teachers receive a stipend enabling them to have their basic needs met. 

Safe transportation is necessary for the deaf to attend school. 

Learning resources such as computers, projectors, books, maps, and visuals are needed.

Isaiah 29:18 Christian School for the Deaf is a valuable resource for those who are deaf and to their families. 

R.O.A.R partners with the deaf school, reaching out and restoring value to each one who is made in the image of 

God. To him, they are worth dying for!
