A grandmother made a long drive to rescue her two grandsons—stepping into a fight for their future. The boys had been living in a homeless shelter, carrying deep trauma from years of instability and neglect.

When they arrived at Children’s Promise Centers, a ministry of Community 54:13, they found something they had never consistently known: safety, care, and people who showed up every day.

And slowly, healing began.

One grandson, who had struggled in silence, with the help of our staff was diagnosed with autism and finally received the support he needed to thrive. Today, he is on track to earn his Eagle Scout rank and is rebuilding his relationship with his father.

This is what transformation can look like.

In Albuquerque’s International District, many families face more than financial hardship. They are navigating generations of instability, isolation, and limited opportunity—cycles that are incredibly difficult to break alone. (see chart)

For over 20 years, we have provided high-quality childcare—now serving more than 200 children. But we’ve learned something important:

Caring for children is only part of the solution – at that’s why we started the Albuquerque Leadership Foundation.

Lasting change happens when families are supported, encouraged, and given real pathways forward.

That’s why we are stepping into the gap.

We are expanding our work to walk alongside parents and caregivers—not just meeting immediate needs, but helping them build a different future. This year, we are launching financial coaching along with job and career cohorts that provide coaching, community, and practical tools to help individuals find stable employment and grow into meaningful careers.

Through our partnership with CrossPurpose (www.crosspurpose.org , we are using a proven model. In Denver, 100% of participants graduate into full-time jobs, earning an average of $22 per hour.

But this is about more than statistics. It’s about dignity, stability, and hope that lasts and breaking the cycle of poverty. And we don’t walk away after the program ends—we continue walking alongside each person as they build a new path forward.

You can be part of this story.

Your support helps create the consistency, relationships, and opportunities that change lives—not just for children, but for entire families.

Together, we can help break cycles of poverty and build pathways to lasting hope.
